What is MigraSafe?

MigraSafe is a project to support regular, orderly and safe migration. Led by Spain, it boasts the participation of Portugal, Sweden and Switzerland and the support of the Directorate General of Migration and Home Affairs of the European Commission (DGHOME), which co-finances the project. The project will be implemented in eight African countries: Cape Verde, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal and Tunisia.

MigraSafe aims to improve and update the knowledge about legal migration routes to Europe among embassy and consulate staff in Schengen countries, immigration liaison officers, local authorities and civil society organisations. On the one hand, improving their knowledge of the legal framework for migration to Europe will enable them to provide accurate and up-to-date information to migrants. On the other hand, the seminars and missions planned in the project create a forum that facilitates dialogue on migration between all participating countries from Europe and Africa.

The seminars and missions will include information on the legal migration directives in force in Europe.
